Guaranteed jobs for young people!

JHP Employability has announced significant involvement in a newly launched Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) initiative, the Young Person’s Guarantee.

The Young Person’s Guarantee is part of the government’s drive to help the unemployed youth of today reach their maximum potential through the help of the UK’s top training providers.

Individuals aged between 18-24 years old, approaching six months of claiming JSA are to be given support and guidance, and a guaranteed work placement, at no cost to them. JHP Employability will deliver key skills to help individuals gain and sustain a job, focusing on the individual’s strengths and weaknesses as well as the demands of employers and the local labour market.

Young unemployed individuals require support to succeed in finding available jobs, and it is JHP Employability’s aim to provide the support within the various sectors including retail, logistics, health & social care, business administration, warehousing & distribution, hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism, facilities management and security.

Trained professionals will determine individual’s needs and match them with a tailored learning plan to ensure their maximum potential is reached. Assessment of general employability skills and training to improve their job search, CV writing and interview skills and confidence skills will also be addressed. Individual’s existing skills will be developed to help secure and sustain work in their local areas where future labour market opportunities are forecast. Once individuals have secured work, JHP Training, sister company of JHP Employability, will help individuals to work towards achieving Level 2 or 3 qualifications on-the-job, including Apprenticeships and NVQs.

Advantages to this new initiative are that individual’s strengths are maximised through the tailored learning plans, and weakness are developed, therefore the training and support is relevant to their own goals, and also geared towards a specific job role. Training programmes are run all year in order to ensure that individuals don’t miss an opportunity. Training allowance and support towards travel and childcare will be provided, as well as providing the ease for clients with easy-to-reach central locations for the training to take place.
