JHP Group is pleased to share the ‘Summary Response to the Conservative’s proposed Work Programme’, as outlined in ‘Get Britain Working’. This short paper is designed to illustrate some of the key considerations we, as one of the largest providers of integrated employability and skills services, believe should be given attention as part of any evolution of the worklessness agenda.
Each of our customers has a unique set of needs and aspirations and these cannot be segmented or organised sequentially accordingly to the stages of support that are available. Rather, their needs should lead the support we provide from the outset, including where training is the dominant barrier to gaining employment. The recent changes in our economy and the inherent need to prepare customers, and in turn our workforces, for sustained employment in future labour markets highlights this requirement as absolutely essential.
We hope that you find this paper of interest and value, and welcome the opportunity to expand upon the issues raised and the proposed developments for tackling unemployment and worklessness.
